"So many 2012 calender spaces still open"

I still have many open spaces on my calender for this present year. I am also finding that those who are directly connecting to me and I am responding to personally, are sadly not returning my correspondence. "Pricing your Wedding Day."

Happy 2012 to all! I'm seeing more calls than ever this new year for requests for me, but I'm also finding 90% are " price shoppers."

While it is entirely " TACKY " to post rates, I am completely open to meet with you and discuss my rates and availability on a NO FEE Consultation. This meeting should take at least an hour or less as depending on your intended plans for your Wedding day.

I take my reputation and desire to serve God and others as seriously as you are looking to make your wedding day a special one. Please feel welcome to call or e-mail me to set up your consultation as once again I offer this free and you will find my donation schedule pleasantly worth the time.

For the died hard price shoppers, there are national averages you can Google for donation schedules or charges for Ministers, Pastors, Wedding Officiants, and Churches or banquet halls before investing your time contacting and meeting with any one of us. I certainly understand the constraints of getting the wedding you expect for the least amount of money, but it is my personal belief that if you don't spend some time personally interviewing with wedding officiants that yo are interested in, you may not get what you hoped, dreamed, and paid for in the end. Cost can also be in the details.

I do offer a basic fee schedule I will be happy to mail to you upon request, but please again understand it is a basic guide and my fees may vary depending on the time that is required of me to invest in making your union everything you hope it to be.

"Civil Unions, "

At this time, while I can and will offer civil unions, I cannot perform them from my home office at this time pending contract work on the roof of my home and the inside, as this would be unsafe. The work could go for 1-3 months.

Anyone wishing to seek me for a basic civil service, should expect to be able to have me come to your home, or other desired location for this temporary period of time.

My fee is $60 to perform the service which includes submission of your marriage license and certificate to the domestic relations office in your area for certification by a Judge. You should get your certificate within 7-10 business days following your service and my submission of your documentation.

"Why am I not your average Reverend...an Introduction. "

If you are reading my blog, I want to start by saying, Thank You for taking the time to get to know me as a Minister, and as a person. To choose me as your Wedding Officiant is a way to also help others in the community I live and worship in and beyond.

Let me take a quick step back to tell you a little about Heather the person, and then we will move forward to The Dr. Rev. McKay that are one in the same. I could draw upon my life experiences as one would if writing a retelling of a Dickens' novel, but my intent is not to bore you away, LOL.

I will say only that I'm a married, 40 yr.old housewife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, worker, and caregiver. I wear many hats & I'm sure many can relate.

My Mom was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at age 57 in 2007. Through her illness, we were bankrupted in 2010. If it weren't for our faith in God and believing in his higher purpose for us, I would not be the person I chose to be...or the Minister I am. I gave my Mother her last rights, and officiated her funeral on July 27th, 2011. My family and I are still coping with her loss, but have become stronger and more proactive, faith-based people because of this experience.

I admit, I first crept back to faith in God and became a Minister because of my Mother's illness, realizing my own mortality, as well as her own. She had so much confidence and peace with what was happening to her. I then realized I needed my Savior to as she was so strong in her faith.

I thank you for reading. I hope to be added in some measure to the beginning of your lives together be it in matrimony, love, life, council, or even sorrow of loss. I'm a non- denominational minister, who chooses to serve and teach outside of the traditional methods of Organized Religion, as I believe that the confines of organization was created through man, not our God.

If you look at all the things God created and gave to us, while most of it is wondrous, not all of it is organized. I feel God left things that way, gave us a Bible and 10 Commandments to follow, so that one day, when our time comes to meet him, if we take the time to appreciate the things he made for our survival, and follow the basic guide for life he set forth onto us...then hopefully we will be a better society, and better people.

I like Rock and Roll over Bach and Beetoven. You may see a glimpse of Chuck Taylor high tops under my traditional robe and vestments. I don't perform the right's of marriage just to support my family. I love what I do for God & others and support many families through The Alzheimer's Association, The Neimann-Pic Foundation, The MS Society, Stand Up for Cancer, and The Humane Society of North America.

I'm not perfect, but as good as God made me. One thing is definitely certain, you will get a most " human and compassionate " Minister to bring honor, joy, and your traditions to your wedding day if you choose to have me.
