"Things To Know About Your Wedding Minister"
Some of the things that you may be interested in knowing before you book your wedding minister.
I personally believe that it is of the utmost importance to have the right person officiate your wedding. I have listened to horror stories about weddings that, to say the least, have been officiated poorly.
We have planed and officiated hundreds of weddings. Each ceremony is custom designed to reflect the feelings of the bride and groom. All of our services are designed to your needs, no matter what format (Spiritual, non-denominational, civil, or themed. I have done weddings in homes, back yards, parks, beaches, hotels, banquet halls, churches, restaurants, on ships, and resorts.
I do not officiate all the weddings in the area - however - comments received reflect we do an excellent service.
Rev. Jim has pastored, served as a assistant pastor, staff chaplain, radio talk show host, teacher, and Christian counselor. Along with being ordained he has been a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Christian Chaplains, American Association of Wedding Officiants, along with several other associations.
Presently retired from church work I concentrate on providing spiritual support and service to individuals and families that do not have a church home, community of faith, or have been somehow disengaged from their faith system. I do strongly encourage couples to find and alien with a faith support community that is nurturing and supportive. Christian counseling is available if you desire.
Whether we do your wedding, or not. As a minister I will help in any way possible - answer any of your questions - and provide full information.
Fees for service are based on a suggested donation, which we believe is reasonable, however no one is refused spiritual service and support because of finance. If we book your wedding, baptism, or other spiritual service I do request a small deposit. That assures you that your time is reserved. Deposit are refundable and service can be canceled any time up to thirty days before the event.
"Some Personal Information"
I am a Christian minister and have done many wedding since entering the ministry in 1970. Presently I am serving as a staff chaplain at a hospital in Lake County Illinois and have served on staff for several hospitals in this area. Many people I work with do not have a community of faith but desire to have a Christian service. Some do not want to go thought the weeks of pre-marital counseling, and some desire a simple service. I also officiate other services for families that have no Church home. My wife Alice and I are not aggressive or assertive about religion – but possess a desire to serve.
I would be happy to provide you with information and or answer any questions you might have about your wedding plans. Working with you we can design a ceremony and vows that will make your wedding a most memorable experience for you and your guests.
There is no charge for an information consultation. Alice and I would be most honored to visit with you.
