"5-28-10 Clinton & Laura's Wedding"
I could tell on the phone that Clinton was excited about getting married to Laura! As I talked with him, I also got so excited to be a part of their ceremony. I even volunteered to take pictures and bring samples of my home-made chocolates. I couldn't wait to meet the couple!
The wedding took place at Clinton's Mom and Step-dad's house which was outside of Marysville...in the country. I always take my GPS Tom-Tom to lead me to the location, but so many times the Tom-Tom says "You have arrived at your destination" and I'll look around and it's just an intersection. Needless to say, I passed the wedding location THREE times!!!!! I saw a driveway where some guys were sitting in their car so I pulled in there and got out to ask them for directions. All of a sudden someone yelled from across the highway, "Are you the minister?" I looked over the road and THERE was where I was supposed to be! lol That's why I always try to give myself extra time to find the correct location.
I absolutely love meeting new people and fell in love with everyone at Clinton and Laura's wedding. There was a huge pond lined with beautiful, gigantic trees that provided the backdrop to the ceremony and pictures. Laura was given away by her Dad. Clinton and Laura held each other's hands as we did the ceremony. "Clinton, you may kiss your bride!" and boy did he kiss her! LOL
Everyone was taking pictures so they will have a wonderful variety of memories in pictures. Clinton's Step-dad had the biggest BB-Q grill that I had ever seen. It was like a storage tank that had been horizontally cut in half and welded so that the top cover could be raised and closed over the food. It was probably 10 feet long! Hamburgers, brats, and chicken were all being grilled at the same time. YUMM!
I stayed and chatted (my forte, lol) and made lots of new friends! Clinton & Laura will be having a baby boy in August and they are so in love with him! Laura's Dad and Mom were so great to get to know along with her sister and brother. Her sister is in high school but will be able to attend Urbana University for some of her classes. She is super smart! Both Laura's Dad and brother are drummers and her Dad is in a band that plays locally. (sorry, I forgot the name of the band)
I look forward to keeping in touch with them through Facebook and can't wait for little baby Collin to get here!
"5-22-10 Joey & Nicky's Wedding"
The clouds rolled away, the sun came out and the weather was perfect for Joey and Nicky's spring wedding! The Urbana Swedenborgian Wedding Chapel was the location for the ceremony and it was filled to the brim with family and friends of the bride and groom.
Nicky's gown was a beautiful gown that she found on Craig's list! Can you believe it? It didn't even need to be altered. It fit her perfectly! She carried 2 dozen yellow roses in her bouquet. Her attendants wore beautiful floor length black satin gowns with yellow sashes around their waists.
The ceremony that they chose was a very down-to-earth, non-religious ceremony and we added the sand ceremony (which turned out beautifully!) and also a memorial candle lighting ceremony to honor her father who passed away in 2008.
Dr. Jan Ebert provided the wedding music by playing the historic Roberts tracker organ that is in the church. After the ceremony, the couple was bombarded with bubbles! I looked out the front of the church and all I could see was a bright blue sky filled with crystal clear bubbles! They left in Nicky's father's car that he had restored before he passed away. The interior was done in the purple Crown Royal bottle cover material. It must have been complete with a lot of patience! It was so original!
I had so much fun getting to know Joey and Nicky and their families. They are an amazing couple and I know they will have a lifetime of happiness together.
Wow! I just love what I do and I am so lucky to be able to do it! Thanks for letting me share their wedding with you!
