"Communication is Key to Awesome Wedding Photographs"
Your wedding photographs are the lasting legacy that you have from your wedding day. Those photographs will be viewed by friends, family, and for generations to come. To achieve you’re most beautiful wedding day images it is important to have good communications with your photographer.
The best way to avoid problems down the road is to have an open and honest discussion about your expectations in your wedding photographer and their expectations in you. To do this you need to establish a great relationship and communication with each other. Here are a couple things you can do to make sure you get the wedding photographs you want.
1.) After you have chosen your photographer, keep in contact with them periodically until the wedding day. Send lots of emails, because then they can go back and refresh their memory. By doing so, your photographer will get to know you a little better and be able to photograph more of what you envision of your wedding day photographs.
2.) I would recommend writing down your desires so that your photographer can make sure they capture everything that you have envisioned. See if your photographer has an info sheet for you to fill out. Make sure to take your time and go into detail so your photographer has all of the important information upfront.
3.) Don't forget to discuss your own unique interests with your wedding photographer, he or she can usually come up with some really great ideas to incorporate your individual style into your pictures!
4.) Know what type of photos you want for your wedding day. Look in wedding & fashion magazines - cut a photo out if you really love it and show it to your photographer. This will give him/her an idea about the type of photos you are looking for your special day. Your photographer will appreciate that you have taken the time and communicated with them so there is no disappointment after the wedding.
5.) Be sure to make a list of the photographs that you want taken of your family & friends. Hand it in to the photographer prior to the event to make sure that no one gets missed. Your photographer will already have a list they are working off, but again you are making sure to communicate what is important to you. Along with that list, have a friend or family member that can help gather friends and family for important group photographs. It will save you and your photographer precious time to have someone around to gather the important guests.
6.) Most importantly - Think of the engagement session as a few hours to get to know the photographer and enjoy each other. Relax and have fun so that your romantic story is captured. Ask questions and be yourself!
"And the bride wore lace!"
Historic Spanish Pointe in Osprey, FL was the site of the new Mr. & Mrs. Parker's ceremony and reception. It was my first time photographing a wedding at this special location and I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful secluded garden used for the ceremony.
The couple was nervous at first, but as the day progressed they relaxed and started to enjoy!
My sincere congratulations to Amy & John, who are now husband and wife.
"Way to go Lisa & Jaron!"
Lisa, Jaron and their family sure know how to throw a great party! Saturday, November 7th I was honored to photograph Lisa and Jaron's wedding at Christ the King in Tampa and then help capture the party as they got down and boogied at Teatro's on Seventh in Ybor City.
Lisa and Jaron were such a great couple to work with and so were all of their friends and family. I hope we can work together again soon!

"A bride that loves color!"
I am so exited to be working with the wonderful couple, Nadia and Vernon, who have hired me to be their photographer for their tropical themed wedding on Saturday, June 5, 2010. Nadia and Vernon booked our special Three-in-One Package that features professional photography by Stehman Photograhy, Officiant services by Alafia Ceremonies LLC and Entertainment by DJ Jim.
I had such a great time talking with this unique couple Friday night at Starbucks and hearing about all of their great plans. They will have a truly fun and unique wedding. I am really looking forward to their engagement session and then the wedding next year.
Congratulations Nadia and Vernon!
"Bride to be and Groom to be Lisa and Jaron!"
Thursday evening I had such a great meeting with Lisa and Jaron. They are the couple that I have the honor of photographing in two weeks on Saturday, November 7th! As a photographer I have the pleasure of getting a peak into the most important day of a couples life. I am so honored to be a part of that.

We spent about an hour and a half over at Indian Rocks Beach on Wednesday creating some beautiful images that I know will blow her away when she sees them. Melanie looked at acted like she was a model. She had no problem posing and eventually getting completely soaked in the Gulf of Mexico while wearing her dress. I will have some photos up on my website in the next few weeks so please stop by and check them out at www.stehmanphotography.com You will not be disappointed. Melanie, Thanks for a fun evening!

"Free Encore Photo Session by Stehman Photography!!!"
Have you always dreamed of being a model? Do you still have your wedding dress and don’t quite know what do to with it? Have you tired to sell your dress and so far no takers? Then a Encore Photo session might be right for you.
Also known as an Bridal Glamour Session or Trash the Dress, these Encore sessions have newlyweds, sometimes just the brides, getting dressed up again after the wedding to pose in unusual places without fear of dirtying their attire. A Trash the Dress session can also be for the woman that didn’t go through with the wedding, but would still love to capture some incredible images in her unused and unique gown.
The focus of a Encore is on the bride, not the dress. It is really creative photography that reflects the bride’s personality. Because the ceremony is over and they’re relaxed, the point is to have a fun photo shoot. The images are unique because its stuff you wouldn’t see on the wedding day. It is a chance to get different shots. In an Encore Session brides get the chance to “trash their dress” everywhere from the ocean to a Harley to a junkyard. It is a time to get creative and be you!
Stehman Photography wants to include you as we rebuild our portfolio. We will shoot an Encore session for you in the Tampa Bay area, for the use of your wedding dress. Your session is about creation, not just destruction. We will work with you to create the most show-stopping images possible showcasing your individual sense of style, your beauty and the passion and romance of your marriage. The back of your closet is hardly the place for something as gorgeous as your wedding dress. Contact Stehman Photography right away to schedule your photo session by emailing us at carlastehmanphotography@gmail.com or stehmanphotography@yahoo.com We look forward to working with you!!
Sincerely,
Carla Stehman-Kasera
