"The people perspective: What is expected of the photographer"
Wedding Photography, it's so much more than f stops, shutter speed and a good camera. The people perspective is the maker or breaker of all weddings.
Being a wedding photographer, I'm always amazed at how different each wedding is. Mainly because of the different people you work with. Some people will give you instruction on what they want you to do, some will expect you to give them instruction. The pastor/priest, the wedding coordinator, the bride and/or groom, their parents, the master/mistress of ceremony/reception, even the caterer and aunt Judy or uncle Bob. Chances are, you'll have to communicate with all or most of these people and get an idea of their knowledge/commitment level and expectations of the job.
Relationship building is the most important thing on my "to-do" list. Before the actual wedding day, I go to the rehersal and make sure everyone's on the same page. It makes for a smoother flow, builds a repor and frees up my mind to be creative on the wedding day. Some would not want to be called the "mother of the bride" and would find it offensive if you didn't take the time to at least remember her name. A person's name is music to their ears. It makes them feel comfortable and gives you the photographer credibility and respect.
