08/07/2006 - "Is Videography as important as Photography?"

Traditionally, photography at a wedding was standard. Videography was only for the rich, famous or connected to the industry. Today things have changed. With more and more competition, BCA (Broadcasting and Cinema Arts) degrees, and affordable 3ccd video cameras, videography is on the rise.

When I sign up a new bride or groom for photography I inform them of our videography packages. Most common reply is that they aren't budgeted for it. Or, that isn't of interest. I then give them a sample of someone that has had both done. Most times, after looking at a demo reel (which includes photography in a submenu) they come back and sign up.

Videography is affordable, and on your one year or your 20 year anniversary, ask your self if you want to flip through a wedding album, or see the highlights and photos on a well produced DVD.

Another great note, if you have a relative that lives across the country that couldn't make it to the wedding, send them a dvd. It will include your photos and video of the wedding.
