The Importance of Personality

The most important advice I can think of after 24 years of photographing people: personality is everything. Get to know the photographers you are considering for you wedding day as best you can. It's good to ask the questions often printed in wedding magazines, but dig deeper if you want images that make you feel it all over again ten years later.
Great wedding photography, or any great photography, goes to the heart of the relationship between the subject and the person making the images. Spend some time with your top two or three choices of photographers. If they are worth their salt, they will make themselves available. When you are comfortable with your photographer, there is a greater chance your wedding day will be less stressful, and that will show in your photographs.
