Getting the Most Out of Your Special Day

by Brenda Dison

We all know how hectic your wedding day can get! With this in mind, you should have in mind what style of photographs you would like taken as well as a price range you can afford. This is common knowledge. What most people don't think about is how comfortable will you be with your photographer(s) on your special day. Will the photographer(s) just show up and start shooting or will he or she ask you to come in and chat so they can learn more about what you consider to be special? If you know before hand how the comfort level will or will not be, your decision to hire them will be much easier. Make sure that you are allowed to chat with the photographer(s) weeks before your wedding date so if they don't work out, you can find someone who will treat you like you should be treated. Many photographers shoot a huge number of weddings a year which doesn't allow them to have the time to give your portraits the proper attention they need. Remember, this is a once in a lifetime event and there are no second chances to capture a first impression! Examine their previous work by visiting their studio and/or website, if possible, set up a time to sit and chat about what YOU want, then make your decision. You should have a day full of memories that you will cherish and take with you forever not a day of chaos.
