The Traditional Leather Wedding Album
by Steve Brown
Today there is a revolution taking place in the world of technology. The changes that have taken place in recent years have changed the options available to both brides and wedding photographers in displaying the images of your wedding day. The traditional leather wedding album is still extremely popular. But now there are lots of new variations such as "coffee table" full-page and multi-image pages to choose from. Of all of the many options available, I am seeing the trend toward saving the expense of a large book and focusing on a multi-image DVD slideshow. This contemporary approach offers both music and photos flashing onto either a computer monitor or a TV (great on a large flat panel). With zoom and motion added, your wedding images come alive with sight and sound in a modern version of a PBS documentary. Most photographers will not charge by the picture, but rather by the whole production. Your favorite music can and should be added. As a still photographer I have to admit that I find myself being moved to tears when I view a well done show. That is something I never did when I viewed a leather album.
